Objectives:To support vulnerable population of famine
affected victims in Mizoram state, India.
Activities:
Food Distribution: RICE
Together with Village Disaster Committee plan w/ each village
Villagers mobilization
Procurement of Relief Materials
Distribution in 45 villages
Livelihood:
Procurement of seeds
Distribute Seed
Train Village Volunteers (Seed Plantation)
Provide workshop for Local Authority / Networking b/w village & Town
Cash for Work:
Coordinate Village Youth Groups.
Providing opportunity for work
Monitoring & Following-up.
Advocacy with the Government:
Local capacity building/training
Facilitation of co-ordination
Rehabilitation/continuum:
Conduct
community disaster mitigation, preparedness and response
communication campaigns, including:
- Six Public awareness raising days held in 6 locations
– 6 panchayats: these will be using various media, competitions,
children's games, posters, plays, etc. covering various
disaster risk reduction topics. These will be imaginative
and context specific.
- Ongoing communication materials in each village facilitated
by community members and the VDCs.
Outcomes:
Food Distribution: RICE
The targeted famine affected families and their children
have increased access to food
Livelihood
The ability to grow crops in the following crop seasons
is increased for the most vulnerable
Cash for Work
Immediate livelihood opportunities have been increased
for the target families
Advocacy with the Government
The beneficiaries will understand and will be able to access
the government schemes made available.
Rehabilitation/continuum
The target community has an increased resiliency to the
impact of food shortages

Objectives: To assist with immediate relief for
the famine affected families
Activities: Distributed 50kgs of rice per family.
Outcomes: To see the victims survive at least for
two months through the famine disaster. |
