Activities: Construction of
multipurpose community centers, providing training and

Expected Outcomes: Functional
multipurpose community centres with child care centres,
first aid stations, and workshop places, strengthened
village development committees, trained first aid helpers
are offering first aid services to the community and trained
ladies in sea shell crafts and fish and prawn pickle making
are producing, packaging and selling their livelihood
products. |

Project: HALPA
for WOMEN
Location: Uttar Pradesh

Objectives: Access to health education, prevention of infections among the women and malaria prevention and access
to additional source of income through training and support.
Activities: Formation and strengthening of self help groups,
training of women in embroidery, distribution of insecticide
treated nets and sanitary napkins and conducting health
education sessions.
Expected Outcomes: Trained women in embroidery work are
producing and selling their products in the market and
practicing the habit of microcredit. Improved health care
knowledge among the women and less cases of STI infections
and malaria reported as compared to the baseline.

Project: Ensuring Environment and Livelihood Security (EELS)

Budget: € 749,999.92 EURO
Beneficiaries: 10,000 students and 1,100 families, 9
intermediate shelters covering 17 villages.
Objectives: Mitigation and rehabilitation of degraded
coastal, urban and rural environment of tsunami-affected
communities of Andaman and Nicobar Islands through
integrated management of natural and non-biodegradable waste
resources.
Activities: Environmental care awareness, salt water
intrusion protection, environmental cleanup related
livelihood and backyard agro-forestry promotion.
Expected Outcomes: Students and teachers have improved
understanding of environmental issues, and the means to
practice methods of improving school and home environment,
households are maintaining and protecting their landholdings
and public properties against seawater intrusion through
water sluice gates and greening initiatives, households are
simultaneously doing environmental clean-up and utilizing
organic and non-organic wastes/debris for earning
livelihoods, households are engaged in backyard
agro-forestation to support livelihood. |
